Does anyone have any tips for transplanting a new bamboo to the ground from a pot? I bought a new bamboo (my first) and I plan to add a few more in my landscape. I live in central Florida and have a spot picked out for this one if full sun.

since you already have the spot picked, the next step is to prepare a hole. In central Florida this is a good time of year to be planting a bamboo. Dig a hole about four inches larger in diameter than your pot. loosen the soil around the outside of the hole if it is compacted. If the soil is very dense, you might want to work some mulch or straw into the soil around the hole. Dig the hole deep enough for the plant to sit inside with its potted soil level 6 to 10 inches below the surface. Lay the pot on its side and press slightly on the side of the pot to carefully release the bamboo plant from the pot. Slowly slide the bamboo plant out of the pot and place your hand over the bottom of the roots and soil as soon as it comes out of the pot. Support the bottom of the plant with your hand as you gently place it into the prepared hole. Fill in around and over the plant with a good potting soil. Mulch over the top and make sure it is protected from dogs for example who may trample or chew your culms. Adequate watering is essential through the plants first summer season. New shoots may appear in late spring thru late summer.
