A few weeks ago I decided that I had too many pots of bamboo in my yard (at that time I had 80 pots of bamboo in my tiny back yard). So over the last two weekends I have been planting like crazy at my farm. I put 28 plants in the ground, most of them were 15-25 gal pots. My back yard started looking much better. I also realized that with all of the clumping bamboos, palms, citrus, etc. that I have to plant at the farm that I'm not going to have room to plant the runners that I had collected over the last 4 years, so I started adopting them out to friends. Two weeks ago I had 14 different running varieties. I am now down to one. A 25 gal pot of Ph. viridis 'Robert Young' is the sole survivor of my downsizing frenzy. I have no idea what I'm going to do with Mr. Young, but I figured I needed to keep one running type around. Maybe I'll upsize him to a 200 gal pot, and just let him be.

I am now down to 39 pots in my yard... over 1/2 way done. I'm going to continue planting for the next couple of weekends, hopefully getting down to only having 20 or so pots of bamboo in the yard for the winter, and then plant out the rest next spring.
